I’m Rohit Singh, an independent designer. I work with people and businesses who care about how they come across, and I help them get there with clear thinking and careful design.
I work on my own. It means I can give each project my full attention, and it means you always know who’s doing the work. My site is called Design by Rohit because that’s exactly what you get.

02What I believe
Good design is a series of reasonable decisions that add up to something surprising.
I don’t think a design should need a long explanation, but I do think every part of it should have one. If a color, a typeface, or a line of space is there, I should be able to tell you why.
I care about typography, restraint, and getting the small things right, because small things are what people notice without realizing they’ve noticed.
03How I approach projects
I start with questions, not sketches.
Before I design anything, I want to know what the project is really for, who it’s speaking to, and what would make it a success in your eyes. The direction comes from those answers, rather than from whatever happens to be in fashion.

The person you talk to is the person doing the design. Nothing gets lost being passed between a salesperson, a manager, and a designer.

I’ll explain my thinking
You’ll hear why I made a decision, in plain language. If you disagree, we can have a real conversation about it.

I’ll be straight with you
If I think something won’t work, or that you need less than you asked for, I’ll say so.

You’ll know what’s agreed
Scope, deliverables, and schedule are written down in a proposal before the work starts.

As one person, I care about taking on work I can do properly and giving it the attention it deserves.
